Merry Christmas!

With just a week before the big day were getting all merry around here at BlueSky. Lunch breaks are spent Christmas shopping at the Westchester, Angela is keeping close tabs on who's been naughty and whos been nice, and Wedge started riding his one horse open sliegh to work (much to the parking attendants dismay, what with all the horse poop he leaves behind.) And to make things even more joyful around here were decking the blog with drawings of Christmas. There's a wealth of material to work with here so lets see what you got BSS artists.

The Automobile

I've been noticing that a lot of what we've done here on the BSS Challenge is character based. In order to stretch us a bit further than we would normally be stretched, this week's challenge is not to draw a character, but to draw an automobile. Yes, the automobile. Man's greatest fusion of engineering and design. Sure, there's some ugly cars out there, but some of the most beautiful peices of art ever created are on four wheels. So, go draw a car. You pick which one. Is it the Lamborgini of your childhood dreams, or the Honda of your current reality? Or is it a totally made up car no one has seen before? Show us.

Superheroes, turkeys, and ninjas are fun to draw, for sure...but a challenge? Maybe for pansies. But we are not pansies here at BlueSky. No, we want a REAL challenge. And that is why your challenge this week BlueSkyers is to draw something inspired by the 1851 novel by Herman Melville, Moby Dick. I know the Sunday funnies aren't too inspiring these days, but there was a time when I eagerly awaited Sunday mornings just to spread the paper out in front of me an bask in the creativity of the newest Calvin and Hobbes or the shear absurdity of the latest Far Side.
